It has a lithium-ion polymer battery that can last up to 10 hr, a new dual core Apple A5 processor and VGA front-facing, and 720p rear-facing cameras designed for FaceTime video calling.

This gadget was unveiled on March 2, 2011, which was then sold by web sites and retail stores March 11 of the same year. On March 26, 2011, it was then sold to 25 other countries and made millions of dollars in just a few weeks.

With this, the competition became harder between Microsoft and Apple as the latter finally got the upper hand on sales. Accessories like ipad2 covers, cables, stands, speakers, jackets, and many more became a huge business as a lot of people want to personalize their tablets as much as they can.

What made it more special is the fact that it is a lot lighter and thinner than its predecessor the original iPad.
